Being in the center has its advantages as well as disadvantages. Adriatica was always influenced by different peoples, imperators, vladars, rulers... there is richness of different cultures, habits, lifestyles... Remains of Diocletian palace still stand in the city of Split, showing its 2000 years old architecture. Arena in Pula is better preserved than Romaean Colloseum.

Small towns have fitted into the currents of modern life, and yet they have remained true to old traditions.

Ingenious works can be seen in museums and galleries along the Adriatic - in Kotor, Dubrovnik, Vid, Mostar, Split, Livno, Zadar, Sibenik, Rijeka, Pula…

In addition to Christmas, Easter and Carnival - many cities celebrate their heavenly patrons in a solemn way. Thus - 'Sveti Tripun' in Kotor, 'Sveti Vlaho' in Dubrovnik, 'Sveti Duje' in Split and "Sveti Donat" in Zadar.

    People and culture

Folk dances are another famous cultural expressions; the folklore tradition Lindjo from the south of Croatia, particularly from Dubrovnik, has crossed boundaries and become very famous. Various music festivals like "The sunny stairs" in Herceg Novi, produce each year plenty of popular mediterranean songs.

Adriatica is also very important with reference to cooking. The quality and variety of its gastronomy is one of the main attractions. We cannot talk about a single traditional gastronomy, but of several regional ones.

Brudet, pasticada, paska janjetina, crni rizot, prsut, livanjski sir, soups and pies from Dalmatia, sarma u lozi from Herzegovina and kostradina from Sibenik are some of the thousands of famous dishes in Adriatica.

The wine industry is especially worthy of mention. Region of Adriatica is one of the most important wine producers in the world.

Adriatica’s geography means it is a privileged region for sports. The favourite sports are football, basketball, water-polo, sailing, sport fishing, scuba-diving and windsurfing. Countryside is suitable for horse riding or biking and there are also favourable conditions for flying in ultralight planes or paragliding. Other sports to enjoy are golf, tennis or ski.

Adriatica guests should also keep in mind some peculiarities of habits that mainly stem from climatic living conditions.

Thus often working hours are shared into 2 shifts, e.g. from 09:00 to 14:00 - and in the afternoon from 17:00 to 20:00.

Many people eat in restaurants - which is not seen as a luxury. If you do not play Rockefeller, you can get a solid lunch for 5-10 € - in very high quality and tastefully decorated taverns, taverns, inns.
