The town lies on seven rivers (Krka, Butižnica, Orašnica, Kosovčica, Krčić, Radljevac and Marčinkovac) and is surrounded by nine mountains (Orlovica, Ilica, Plješevica, Bukovac, Badnja, Dinar, Kozjak, Svilaja and Promina).
One of the most beautiful rivers - the Krka - rises in the area of Knin and, like nowhere else in the world, under the waterfall of another river - the Krčić.
